Jord Watches

Jord Watches are a hand-crafted wood timepieces that are made out of raw materials and are just simply absolutely stunning. When I first came across their website I absolutely loved the genuine and unique feel to all of their products. Especially due to the fact that their watches are solely customized to fit your needs (something that I was immediately drawn to as I have had a history of not having a good relationship with wristwatches because of the small circumference of my wrists and not being able to find any watches that have actually fit me in the past).

“We are focused on creating timepieces that are modeled after a modern lifestyle. We value sustainability, efficiency, and experiential living. We make our watches for people who don’t just have somewhere to be, they have somewhere to go.” – J

Their refined designs are not limited to women’s or men’s, rustic, sleek, oblong, square – even to the crispness of how they infuse their colors and textures into the aestheticism of their unique pieces.

For example, like their Barista Coffee-infused watch that is literally infused with ground coffee beans and actually smells like you have just brewed a delight while you are trying to check the time. Like, imagine that. Coffee haters be gone!

“The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.” – J

Anytime you order a Jord watch you are surprised with this amazing, sustainable wooden box (that honestly serves as a great jewelry holder for all of you women that never seem to find a jewelry box that can contain your incessant obsession – yes you!) that I just find absolutely beautiful, as well as fluid for cleaning your watch, a cloth cleaner for keeping it as dry as possible afterwards, and of course the beautiful watch itself.

I was approached with the opportunity to own the FRANKIE II 38 mm watch in its ultra slim minimalist look, which really fit in with my wardrobe style.  It was customized to fit my wrist (which I measured to 14cm) but they also gave me spare pieces for the wrap around so that I can adjust it later on to fit me as my body changes.

The Frankie collection is the best selling wood timepiece in the world. An ultra-minimalist quartz design for everyday wear. Frankie is worn in over 140 countries worldwide and is a mainstay in our lineup. And for 2020, they have reengineered the Frankie II collection to offer more colors, more dial designs, and more sizes. Oh, and it’s stronger than ever with steelcore™ technology. Now the thinnest wood timepiece on the market, the Frankie II comes in its original 45mm as well as a smaller 38mm.

They are not only great as when used as a conventional watch (or more likely rather, these days, an apple watch – which they can also be customized into a band to fit around the apple watch interface) but also as a great styling piece! To be honest, I don’t use a watch to check the time these days – I have my phone, my tablet and a vast amount of resources to do so. But I think my Jord actually acts as a styling piece, somewhat like a bracelet or other forms of jewelry – and it goes well with any basic and neutral colored outfit – as well as a perfect brunch piece!

The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.

To add to all this talk about watches – fun fact: they also sell handbags, sunglasses and awesome gift sets that would be the best way to surpass a loved one with one of these timeless pieces!
